Review of Femme Fatale (2002) by Brian F — 02 Oct 2006
Look, the plot is unimportant. This film is about cinema itself; it is a celebration of the movies. De Palma is interested in images: a woman's body, glittering diamonds, television screens filming someone without their knowledge, large phallic symbols used as weapons.
This is an amazing achievement in visual cinema. If you want to compare it to something, compare it to 2001 or Blow-up, not contemporary thrillers. A great film.
