Review of Female Trouble (1976) by Matt D — 28 Mar 2008
Of all of Waters' NO BUDGET movies, this is definitely the best! Flamingos is the one you'll hear people talk about, and it's the one that helped change the way the public saw Independant films, but Female Trouble has the real talent.
Relying less on shock-humour, though still chock full, this film takes you on an insane adventure of lust, greed, terror, love, envy, corruption, murder, religion, and the overwhelming power of beauty! hahaha, it's not as intense as it sounds, but it is incredibly funny, disturbingly touching, and it's got Edith Massey as the strait hating Ida.
"The world of the heterosexual is a sick and boring life." Oh joy! Watch this movie if you have any interest in the sick and the twisted side of life. Dawn Davenport, I salute you.
