Review of Female (1933) by Sunny W — 07 Nov 2008
Really enjoyed the man eater character of Ruth Chatterton in this pre-code flick where she runs an auto company and treats her male employees however she wishes. Amusing. Sags near the end when she finds her feminine side and some stereotyped statements about the role of women.
Even so, the pig with the bow and the end was somewhat satisfactory and perhaps she find a happy medium? Easily the first movie of sexual harassment instigated by a woman at least the only one I can think of.
