Review of Fell, Jumped or Pushed (2016) by Jennifer S — 11 Nov 2016
IHugely entertaining! Loved the way spontaneity and craft intermingled so seamlessly. Also loved how well the subtlety in the screenplay and the detailed execution in the filmmaking kept the line between parody and actual documentary so fuzzy, so elusive.
In fact, there was so much detail behind each shot, I had to stop the film to catch and codify the technique. It reminded me of Christopher Guest films but, not everyone was as skilled as Guest, and so the parody always came through a little too clearly for me.
Kudos to Peters and Caroline Hall, especially. Training really pays off here.
