Review of Felicia's Journey (1999) by Natasha G — 05 Mar 2010
This film is difficult to define; it begins in an almost lighthearted way then soon develops into a sinister tale of a lonely man (Hoskins, who plays the role to perfection) who "takes in" a young girl, Felicia (Elaine Cassidy), who has left her home in Ireland in search of her boyfriend.
Whilst this film is quite good, because of it's cross-generic narrative it's difficult to feel completely satisfied at the end, as you aren't quite sure what kind of film you have just witnessed. But it is definitely worth watching.
