Review of Feeders 2: Slay Bells (1998) by Chris C — 10 Oct 2009
Those pesky paper-mache stick aliens are back in Feeders 2, and so are the Polonia brothers who somehow felt the urge to deliver fans another ultra-low budget, hilarious 70 minutes of bad acting, bad effects, and bad storylines.
This time, the aliens decide to invade during Christmastime, where a family of four headed by Mark Polonia (as the lead this time), his scary looking wife, and two adorable kids (seriously, they are) who are unaware of the Feeders that sit inside their basement, waiting to make their move.
While this is happening, other random feeders go around and eat random people in order to stretch the already tiny film length. The feeders may have met their match though when they fuck with the wrong person, Santa Claus, who definitely gets his revenge.
Thankfully, the humor in this is much more intentional, and actually succeeds, delivering some moments that made me laugh my head off and rewind the movie a couple of times (honest to goodness). The mean-spirited boss at Polonia's insurance job is the highlight of this film's hilarity, but the entire Santa vs.
Feeders portion of the film is also hilarious as well. Though both are equally bad in a good way and filled with that unique Polonia charm, I'd venture to say part 2 is better.
