Review of Feast of Love (2007) by Aaron R — 09 Mar 2008
After the first 30 minutes this film was in real trouble. Another Morgan Freeman narration (is this a condition in his contract or something jesus), shoddy scriptwriting, 2D characters and dishing out every cliche under the sun.
Star crossed lovers making the beast with 2 backs in the middle of a football stadium whilst a shooting star passed overhead (at this point I was dry retching ready to vomit) Thankfully it picked up a little in the second third but by the time it threw in the manipulative ending all that work was undone.
If Morgan and Greg Kinnear weren't in it you'd have been having to watch this on Channel 7 at midday. its' only merits come in the form of Greg Kinnear who is again engaging and Morgan Freeman does have some nice moments, even though there are some scenes where even he looks disinterested - perhaps after his oscar for MILLION DOLLAR BABY he just doesn't care anymore.
Lets hope not.
