Review of Feast of Love (2007) by Jude L — 02 Sep 2008
Alexander's character is under-used--more like a prop than anything else, although she does give remarkable depth to the role. freeman is almost perfection (i *love* freeman) and kinnear gives a solid, endearing performance.
davalos is pitch perfect. at times, the film feels staged--almost as if it were taken from a play instead of a novel, which is odd, considering it's benton directing. the story meanders & is predictible, for which its almost forgiven b/c you're watching such excellent actors.
oh, & a bit over-reliant on nudity.
