Review of Feast (2005) by Ivy Rechille M — 30 Mar 2009
This film is absolutely delightful. The first and foremost reason for this is that it is hilarious (intentionally; not in the funny due to horrendous ineptitude way many horror flicks attain). The cast all deliver memorable performances and the way in which each character is introduced (the movie pauses while we get a nickname for the character, along with a brief description and their life expectancy) is ingenious.
The gore effects are convincing, the pacing is perfect (providing ample time for characterization without making the film drag) and it succeeds at being tense in spite of all the humor. This flick should really and truly satisfy most gore hounds; particularly those who think they would be likely to laugh uproariously at the sight of an innocent "tween" boy being devoured.
