Extremely bloody and gory movie. And that's the way we like them! It's action filled from beginning to end. It could've done without the "funny" scenes, such as when papa monster's genitals are caught in the door and cut off.
I got the sense that when the movie started, the people who made it had not made up their minds about what the monsters were going to look like. In the beginning, they appear different than at the end, although it's seen that they're wearing a cow skull, you can still see that it's two different appearances for the creatures on the final scenes where they finally break in.
I didn't think the comic relief was effective and found it out of place, but the action almost made up for it. There are no answers as to where the monsters came from or much of a plot other than the monsters want to nibble on the people in the diner and the people in the diner are trying to keep them out.
I'd still recommend it.
