Review of Fear Street: 1994 (2021) by Veloso — 16 Jul 2021
Fear street part one: 1994 can be seen from two points of view: a first part of a miniseries or an independent horror film.
Seen as part 1 of a trilogy, it does very well. It manages to present interesting content, worthy of our curiosity and intrigues us to see the other two parts, as they visit the past, not the future.
Now, as an independent horror film, it is wrong in many ways.
Horror doesn't terrify, jumpscares are predictable, the soundtrack is cliché from many other horror movies, and the characters are contestable. This style of film is already so popular that you will hardly be impressed by this one.
However, if you see the movie with that point of view, one thing you might be impressed: the ending.
He is partially unexpected, intriguing and rewarding after watching the movie seeing it as yet another cheesy horror movie.
Fear Street Part 1: 1994 is an updated version of several different styles of horror movies, but it manages to deliver a good pastime and a good cause for more parts of its story.
