Review of Fear Street: 1994 (2021) by Butcherboybryce — 02 Jul 2021
Another short attention span Netflix TV movie, marketed as a film. Zero build up or suspense, scenes constantly skip ahead with ADHD pacing and zero scene building. Characters TELL the viewer the plot via exposition dumps.
Features lots of great music from the 90s, but music supervisor seems to have zero context/understanding or appreciation of this era. Songs skip ahead from one to another, don’t play out fully and don’t match up to what is happening on screen.
They rarely play for longer than the chorus. Seriously, fire their music department. Imagine an alien watched “Scream” and “MTV Cribs” for the first time and was then told to make a “film” with a TV budget.
