Review of Fear Street: 1994 (2021) by Gdkavxnceu — 05 Jul 2021
I was excited about seeing a horror movie based on a book series that was a childhood staple of mine and I was even more excited when I heard that it featured a sapphic romance- unfortunately this movie was nothing but disappointments.
It broke it's own story rules, the characters were unlikable and boring, the acting was subpar, and I didn't buy the romance at all (which is disappointing given how excited I was about queer rep in horror).
The movie had a lot of potential that it was too lazy to reach and it didn't even manage to cash in on the nostalgia points that it could have had. I genuinely hope the other 2 parts are better but I really don't have much faith- the only thing that leaves me interested in the sequels is my desire to see if they're just as bad as part 1.
