Review of Fear of Fear (1975) by Luke P — 22 Jun 2008
I really liked the distinction between younger and older Germans in their perception of other races. The nazis had a lasting influence, but by the seventies it was beginning to wear off on the younger generation.
The film is about a German woman in her 60s who falls in love with a much younger Arab. (keep in mind that the film came out soon after the Olympic Munich incident) It is a very unconventional love story, but the dynamics of age and race help pronounce problems that exist in every relationship.
