Review of Fear of a Black Hat (1994) by Charles J — 24 Nov 2007
Fear of a Black Hat nails the mockumentary. Spinal Tap is good, but Fear is great. Spinal Tap wasn't trying to make any political or cultural statements, and by extension it loses some of its heat.
Fear, even if it does flag in the last 1/3rd, isn't afraid to go for the cinematic jugular. 13 years later and its still culturally relevant--you'd swear Cundieff was writing 50 Cent's dialogue.
Political Unrest Stabilize Society. Yes!
