Review of Fear Is the Key (1972) by Senor C — 28 Apr 2011
Fear is the Key grows on me every time I watch it (3rd time now). It's a crime that this flix is virtually unheard of. As far as Barry Newman movies go it's better then Vanishing Point. It even has a crackerjack car chase near the beginning.
A good cast here too w/ John Vernon, Dolph Sweet from Gimme a Break (looking pretty slim in comparison to how I know him from that TV series) & Ben Kingsley in his first role. Kingsley is damn good in this too & it's a fucking crime that he didn't see any feature film work after this until Gandhi.
That's 9 goddamn years for fucksakes. Hunt it down. Fans of 70s cinema will be thrilled.
