Review of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) by Josh T — 18 Feb 2013
This film is one of the most original films I've ever seen and unforgettable at that. The imagery is astounding, the camera angles are beautiful, and the acting is nothing short of phenomenal. However, here comes the cons.
The narration of Johnny Depp is often hard to comprehend, even though I got used to it, most did not. The comedy is pretty hilarious in this film, along with the outrageous "trips" that Johnny Depp and Benecio Del Toro experience, but the "trips" often become too convincing and intense, a positive.
All around I enjoyed this film, but the ending left us in a odd place and a reason for a sequel... but hey, this film is a cult-classic and a druggies fantasy. If you don't like it, watch "Titanic" and leave the indie gems to us.
