Review of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) by Rafael A — 03 Jun 2011
Fear and loathing in las vegas is a crazy, unhinged and hilarious film. It revolves around the experience and results of psychedelic drugs and does a very good job of it Johnny Depp plays a drugged out journalist with his accomplice Dr Gonzo, payed by Bencio Del Toro.
Together, they travel around Las Vegas, looking for the American dream. The plot is... well there doesn't seem to be a plot . Instead many hilarious drugged up sketches strung together in a slightly clumsy way.
However all of the sketches are side splittingly funny! At some points you think something really horrible is about to happen, but it is avoided by the skin of the films teeth. The overall experience of Fear and loathing in Las Vegas is very strange, twisted and not for the easily disorientated!
