Review of Fay Grim (2007) by Matthew G — 27 Dec 2007
Having seen the previous movie Henry Fool, this makes for quite a change in mood. I loved the tension and much of the writing. Like David Mamet, Hal Hartley is willing to show character reactions to things (like the harem toy) without revealing the thing itself.
Overall, the people twist around each other like maypole ribbons. If only they'd closed the story on a more satisfying note...
