Review of Father's Day (2009) by Abel D — 03 Oct 2013
About as middle of the road as middle of the road goes, this 1997 remake of the French comedy 'Les Compres' about two supposed 'fathers' chasing down their delinquent son does have its chuckles here and there, and Williams & Crystal make for an effective and engaging duo.
However, it treads a lot of familiar ground in 'relationship comedies', playing it very safe and inoffensive, and it lacks the extra 'punch' or of-the-wall zaniness that a Williams/Crystal/Reitman offering ought to have.
