Once again, Steve Martin shines as George Banks, who finds out his recently married daughter is about to make him a grandfather, at the same time his own wife is going to make him a father again. Yes it's ridiculous, but Martin does comedy with sincerity well, and it's the kind of movie that may not offer any surprises but still has enough funny stuff to get by.
Throw in more of Martin Short as the Wedding Planner Franck and you have some silly but entertaining stuff.
