Review of Fatal Attraction (1987) by Jy L — 09 Apr 2010
Why are the critics talking about when they say that this has aged poorly; Fatal Attraction is brilliant. It may have been better in the 80s, but this film still manages to thrill and scare. It serves as a great cautionary tale, and Glen Close is almost perfect in the lead role.
The director pulls out all the stops in trying to scare us and make us think, and it works awesomly. The film does take a little long to take off, and yes it doesn't seem to have an ending worthy of the rest of the film, but Fatal Attraction is electrifying.
Michael Douglas is good here to, creating sympathy for a somewhat immoral character. An I will never forget the bunny scene. A movie to make Hitchcock proud.
