Review of Fatal Attraction (1987) by Ibraheem M — 26 May 2014
I finally saw this film, and I found it very strange. Glenn Close is entertainingly nutty, but who exactly are we supposed to root for? Michael Douglas is a shit for cheating on his wife, but then Close is too for going after him on purpose when she knew he was married.
And Anne Archer was just so drippy. You might have just about felt sorry for Glenn's Alex when she's up the stick, but the moment she starts attacking his family all that goes out of the window.
But then you're still left with the fact that Douglas is a dick. Despite this huge flaw it's still fun to watch, and having (afterwards) watched the original ending I'm glad they went with the reshoot for the final release.
Final verdict: Play Misty For Me did it better.
