Review of Fat Girl (2001) by Laura F — 10 Jan 2008
I like how certain talented directors have the gift to jerk you around in their creation. You'd think this is one of those films portraying two sisters' struggle and rivalship towards another during their harvest in obtaining their right of passage(and it is).
And there's also that sex crazed boy spouting cliche lines of love whereas you can't help but shout in your head "He's tricking you!". I would have enjoyed the movie in its theme of bittersweet adolescent sentiment; it's all that and something else.
At the end, we discover all of the events leading up simply portray the minutia of life contrasting reality in a macroscopic sense.
