I'm watching the first boxing scene in this saying to myself "well i'll just have to look past the crappy job they did with the boxing" Then I realized, no these characters are that bad at boxing and it's only a stop gap on there path to losing everything.
Huston, the actors and DP Conrad Hall give this movie such a grimy look. It's not flashy or showy, it's just an honest and unsentimental look at these people's lives. This is an outstanding film!
