Review of Faster (2010) by Asif K — 10 Oct 2011

After 10 years in prison, Driver (Dwayne Johnson) has a singular focus - to avenge the murder of his brother during the botched bank robbery that led to his imprisonment. Now a free man with a deadly to-do list in hand, he's finally on his mission...but with two men on his trail - a veteran cop (Billy Bob Thornton) just days from retirement, and a young egocentric hitman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) with a flair for the art of killing and a newfound worthy opponent. The hunter is also the hunted. It's a do or die race to the list's finish as the mystery surrounding his brother's murder deepens, and new details emerge along the way hinting that Driver's list may be incomplete.

I am so glad to see Dwayne Johnson out of those Disney movies into the kind of movie he looks good in. he is perfect for these kind of roles. bad ass, kick ass, huge muscles awsome. but as always this movie on the whole was not that good, again. this movie could have been a very great revenge action thriller drama, it was on that track, it was that kind of a movie but things didn't worked out that well for this movie. it was trying to be that kind of a movie, a movie to remember but just doesn't work that well. but still an average movie, ok to watch.

Some scenes in this movie are seriously superb, not that there is many action scenes but how they have been done the few action scenes that are there, seeing the past of the character of Dwayne while he is out searching the people who were involve in his brother killing and actually killing them in really dramatic way with good background score really looks good but otherwise the movie is not that good. thats bad as I said that it could have been a revenge thriller to remember.

Dwayne Johnson looks really good in his character but somehow he seems lost, I don't think he was ready to play this character, somehow it was more The Rock then Dwayne Johnson himself. he is good in action scenes but not a good actor. Billy Bob Thornton was ok in his role not good though. but nice to see him. that english guy was good Oliver Jackson Cohen, looks really hot and charming and played his character good. other actors were decnt like Carla, Moon, Maggie, Adewale and Tom.

Script and screenplay was very very weak, why is it always I mean it really irritates me so Damn much. an ok revenge action thriller with a dramatic look and plot that could have been a great movie but as usual fails to be so.

If you are a Dwayne Johnson fan than I don't need to say anything you will watch it but if you are not, then I must say to skip this movie.
