Review of Faster (2010) by Dan D — 13 May 2012
The tormentors and the tormented, not necessary defined by the things they do or have done. On the surface, it is a revenge mission connecting the victims, the pursuer, paid assassin and police. On a second level, it is an exploration of pain, suffering, destruction and forgiveness, which is not only inefficiently explored but crippled by the wrong style the movie adopts.
If this movie is being made in Europe, the impact will definitely be deeper and be handled with more sensitivity and crudeness. Dwayne Johnson has the muscles but does not have the chops nor range to portray a suffering killer.
