Before he became an overrated filmmaker, Cameron Crowe went undercover for a year at a California high school and write a book about it. The result was seminal teen movie "Fast Times at Ridgemount High.
" The story episodically deals with each teen film character staple - nerd, cool kid, teen queen etc. It was funny way back when, but now, maybe not so much. Worth a revisit though, just for reminder of Sean Penn as stoner surfer Jeff Spicoli.
