Review of Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) by Tatsuhito K — 26 Jul 2014
Though Sean Penn shines in every scene he's in, everything the characters talk about is sex and sex and sex. Is that the only thing the kids in the 80s talked about !? Fast Times at Ridgemont High, supposedly one of the classic coming-of-age tales, has no solid substance or relatable protagonists, and it's hard to engage with the story when the heroin is -- pardon my language -- a whore with no sense of decency.
It's flat, shallow, and unfunny.
