Review of Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) by President P — 14 Apr 2013
Fast Times At Ridgemont High is the perfect example of a great and comedic film about the American High School Year. The story puts the issues surrounding every teenager in a comedic light, while actually taking it self very well.
The plots all converge perfectly, and the writing is both funny and has plenty of heart depending on the character. The cast gives great performances, but Sean Penn steals the show as the now infamous character, Jeff Spicoli.
Crowe and Roberts write an amazing script and Heckerling directs a great film. Some storylines, parts, and jokes may not be the best, but the majority of the time it is so fun to watch. Capturing the teenage life ever so greatly, Fast Times At Ridgemont High is well deserving of a place in the great high school films of the 1980's and certainly all time.
