Review of Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) by Callum N — 21 Mar 2010
I can respect what it was and what I meant at the time. Anyone who pays attention to pop culture could see how influential it was. I know it was probably fresh at the time but the coming of age teen comedy movie has been so overdone now that it's hard to appreciate it. I didn't find it particularly funny. I got a kick out of Sean Penn though. It bothered me how dirty it was. and I'm getting sick of saying this so this is going to be the last time I say it. I think any good film maker can make a great movie without putting sex and nudity in it. and if they can't manage to leave any sex out, we don't need to see any nudity. you can be suggestive w/o being explicit. but I guess they feel they do it because they can and they'll get more money out of it because of all the horn dogs there are out there. and I know that I'm the one being radical. so I've made my peace and I'm not bringing it up anymore.
So in conclusion. I respect it for what it was at the time but find it to be outdated and not very enjoyable. sans sean penn. woot.
