Review of Fast Food Nation (2006) by Monique P — 08 Jun 2008
The premise was interesting... Using three parallel and conjoint tales about people who are affected by the American fast food industry: teenagers working at "Mickey's" a fast food joint, illegal immigrants crossing into the US and working at a meatpacking plant, and an advertising executive for "Mickey's".
The message comes through loud and clear: big business doesn't care about customers, it cares about the almighty dollar. The film could have been done a little bit better. It's almost as if there is too much ground to cover, and a 2 hour film just doesn't do it.
With that said, it may still put you off of fast food for a while. Pass the organic beef, please!
