Review of Fast Food Nation (2006) by Christian B — 24 Apr 2009
Well done ensamble piece that takes a critical look at the American Fast Food industry following the fictional stories of an Executive investagating possable tainted meat, illeagal immigrants working in the slaughterhouses (by far the best story, kudos to Wilmer Valderamma and co.
), and a highschool student working in a fast food restaurant who quits and becomes involved with some dumb shit university students (by far the weakest storyline, it should have ended with Ashley Johnson quitting, and cut out the politcal screeds, at the point in the movie where they show up they feel like unnecssary padding).
Good acting for the most part (sorry Ethan Hawk but man your whole character felt outta place) and raises some important issues, Kris Kristofferson is great (shoulda cut the kids story line short, and given him more screen time).
Worth your time.
