Its certainly not subtle in imparting a message from a point of view. Reading the summaries of the book on wikipedia, I agree that it is an important story to be told. The first half of the movie is very clever and esoteric in imparting this complex message.

I felt this film falls apart in the second half, straying into non didatic, pure entertainment, with solutions from crazed activists, rather than practical ideas that can address the problems at hand. Stakeholder theory will do more to make the world a better place than anything else on offer.

With that said, the final scenes will certainly make you queasy about ever eating a hamburger again.
