Review of Fast Food Nation (2006) by Brett M — 19 Sep 2012
There's a lot of story going on here, but the plot in this fictionalized story is simple - fast food isn't good for you (i.e., Food Inc. & Super Size Me documentaries). Linklater was trying to paint too many perspectives to tell this story.
Unfortunately not enough on one character to make you want to care about any of them. A great cast, but little heart. Yes; you'll be disgusted by the processing of the meat (actual footage), but that's not enough of a sales pitch to make you want to watch it.
You could probably skip this movie and not be any worse off, unless you really like the similar documentaries mentioned above.
