Review of Fast Five (2011) by Devin M — 27 Sep 2012
If you are looking for a great story, this is not the place to look. They've taken the racing story from the previous films and added a heist element to it which makes the story a bit interesting at the end. I admit the story of the family in Brasil is not that intriguing and somehow I feel that Vin Diesel wasn't really the one who should've been having the scenes where it involved the family relationship because it didn't come off too well. Sure, Paul Walker couldn't have done it either, but when it came to their racing the cars or the action sequences with the cars, it comes off as interesting.
Still, there's no hope for Oscar gold here, but it's a bit exciting at the end and with some of the racing scenes at the beginning. If you're looking for a time to go to the bathroom, there are plenty of scenes in the middle when you can do that and not miss too much.
