Review of Fast & Furious (2009) by Grant K — 27 Apr 2013
Fast and Furious suffers the errors of the first film in the series and attempts to combine themes from the first two in some pathetic attempt to capitalise on the success of the first two and bring back Vin Diesel for a role, but it fails outside of his presence and some decent racing because its a directionless mind-numbing bore-fest which brings nothing new to the series or entertain with memories of the older films so Fast and Furious is a massive fail.
Fast and Furious is mainly a rehash of the first film with minor elements of the second one implored in at the hope for a better reaction, but instead it gets left being the worst film of the series.
And it thinks that we care about characters that are nothing more than scapegoats as a front for excessive racing with Vin Diesel leading them through the caves as he stomps on the pedal, but it's the cars that do it yet become excessively boring somehow, even though that's the main reason anyone would watch Fast and Furious.
And lastly, the problem is that there's no new setting to it and the racing itself is basically just a recreation of the races from the first one but with minor differences, yet little that are enjoyable beyond the devoted fans of the series.
So Fast and Furious may provide nostalgia for certain viewers, but outside of that there is little to be pleased by.
