Review of Fast & Furious (2009) by Jamie R — 29 Jul 2013
The fourth and worst installment in the once watchable franchise is 'Fast & Furious', the absolute rock bottom of the series. 'F&F' reintroduces the cast of the first film, Dom (Vin Diesel), Mia (Jordana Brewster), Brian (Paul Walker), and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Now, this movie was completely unnecessary, the characters were already introduced (because all 4 original movies were setting up the all-star 'Fast Five'), and just to set up a twist that would be revealed in the 6th. Now, this set-up for the 6th occurs in the first half hour, so then we have to watch another hour and 20 minutes of sloppy stories mish-mashed together from bits and pieces of the first three movies.
So, obviously, I did not like this one. The only thing I liked, the ONLY thing, was the races. They looked better than ever. But after a while, when the last race comes around, you just don't care. The movie gets so tiresome, the same thing over and over, the only thing this movie was made for was to put the finishing touches to pull all four together, and just to make more money. This movie is the prime example of soulless filmmaking.
