Review of Fargo (1996) by Michael H — 23 Apr 2014
I just re-watched this film with the series starting up and I'm glad I did. The Coen brothers' tendency to let completely nonredeemable characters run amuck and expose the darkest side of humanity is realized with pitch black humor as usual.
Then there's Marge Gunderson, who shows that ultimately the brothers who brought No Country for Old Men to the big screen are not afraid of goodness either. I'm glad they weren't, and that their fearlessness resulted in a darkly funny classic with one of the most memorable (and best) heroines in fiction history.
