Review of Fargo (1952) by Matt M — 16 Feb 2013
A kidnapping goes wrong in Minnesota. On the case, is a 'very pregnant' police chief with a whip smart mind. The Coen brothers are an established brand of cinematic quality, and this film represents their clever screen writing ways, with a script full of quirky dialogue and interesting characters.
Both on paper and visually, the dark comedy and the gripping thriller mix naturally and make for a gratifying viewing experience, enriched by the wonderful cast including William H. Macy and Steve Buscemi, headed by Frances McDormand in a career defining performance.
