As a confirmed Francophile I was excited to see this; I love stories about this era, Versailles, Marie-Antoinette, etc. However this movie is scattered and boring and rewrites history in a strange way.
The characters are unlikeable and flat and we really don't get to know any of them very well and in addition their actions don't make much sense. Even Versailles itself is wasted here. It does have pretty dresses and faces.
..A frustrating film.
