Review of Far North (2008) by Greg K — 16 Feb 2010

I can't imagine myself ever watching this again, really too dreamy and bleak for that, but quite impressive in its own very quiet way. Michelle Yeoh is excellent, the rest of the cast hold their end up (though really it's just a three-hander).

The story unfolds rather slowly, which will alienate many. The final third of the film is pretty harrowing, and certainly the ending is a shock. I didn't catch the voiceovers at all, so if they added something to the narrative I'm none the wiser.
