The cinematography combined with the vapid story made for one dull tale. Look woman on a horse against the sunset. Look beautiful castle like home as we rise up with the boom crane. It's like it was the paint by numbers version of directing.
Compounding the problem, who is the protagonist? The female lead? She's rather unlikeable and directionless. The guy we all know she's going to end up marrying? He's a spineless martyr.
Mid movie I went to the restroom to check the runtime and see how much more I had to endure. That's the kind of movie this is.
