Despite truncated character exposition & a jittery, plot-driven narrative, this film still delivers. Mulligan shines as the spunky heroine, Schoenaerts is all smouldering reaction shots & Sturridge is energetically oily & sexy.
Gorgeous photography & intelligent direction make this film powerful & affecting.
