Review of Far from the Madding Crowd (2015) by Becky T — 10 Sep 2015
Really good, would have been 5 stars but having never read the book there seemed to be a little back story missing, more development in certain scenes. The dashing soldier Frank needed more explanation, we only saw a little of his love for Fanny his previous woman who was the love of his life, then out of no where he was shot by the desparate suitor with little provocation it just didn't fit well in the film. But I think this was just the plot not being explored as much because of less film time, but I loved it.
Loved bashebas spirit and how tenacious she was, little disappointed she put up no fight with Frank again this seemed to need a little more chasing and stubbornness from her in the scene. but she was bewitched I suppose.
So Gabriel the most selfless character of all wins through from having no expectations. Anyway it was throughly enjoyable.
