Review of Far from the Madding Crowd (2015) by Lee Anne W — 20 Mar 2016
A faithful adaptation of one of my favorite Thomas Hardy books. Michael Sheen is heartbreaking as Farmer Boldwood, my new favorite Juno Temple is perfect as doomed Fanny Robbin, but Carey Mulligan, much as I love her, is not earthy enough to be Bathsheba, and Matthias Schoenaerts is a little too pretty as Gabriel.
