Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by James R — 02 Jul 2007
Todd Haynes directed a beautiful film full of of pastels and autumnal colors. It also sports and fantastic performance by Dennis Quaid who is the standout here. I also fell in love with Patricia Clarkson in this movie.
But a modern-day attempt of being true to Douglas Sirk melodrama's this time bringing contemporary issues that still haven't been resolved like race and homosexuality. I can't watch it OVER and OVER.
..but I do own it for when I'm in the mood. 5 star film.
