Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Jean-Baptiste Z — 06 Nov 2007
Douglas Sirk would be proud. This film has more melodrama than all of his together. A film that replicates everything from the period flawlessly. Julianne Moore gives a great performance and both Dennis Quaid and Haysbert are fantastic.
The issues confronted by the film are exponentially worse in the idyllic 1950's but that's what makes this so much fun, the typical responses of the time can induce laughter at times.
