Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by ~Lissa~ — 07 Dec 2007
Great acting by Julianne Moore in this movie.
They looked like the perfect 1950s family: loving wife, hard working husband, and a cute son and daughter. What the neighborhood gossip didn't know was that underneath the perfection was a woman dealing with her husband coming out of the closet. I think she handled it well under the circumstances and I liked how she found comfort in her friend the gardener.
That is crazy how back then everyone knew your business. She couldn't even have a friendship with a "Negro" without the town throwing a fit.
I really liked how the movie portrayed how it was back then and how there were people who were color blind.
Great movie to watch on a rainy day.
