Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Brett M — 12 Jan 2010

I did appreciate the retro homage to not only the 50s styles and colors but also the flavor and details of a film actually made in that time era. But jesus that sound track was so annoying! I appreciate it would have been something that would have authentically boomed straight from a 50s theater but it make jaw grind from the pure over drama.

It was also incredibly hard to truly get behind Moore's character as she was so insidiously plastic- all I could think was if I were Quaid I'd be out looking for other men too. Not really sure if presenting in a 50s style to a '00 audiance really does the film as much favor as it thought.
